When Lyla decided to make her debut into the world 9 weeks before her due date, we were thrown into the world of being parents to a 3 lb 10 oz preemie. Our little peanut needed a lot of hands on attention and support to grow bigger and stronger. She spent 38 days in the NICU at Prentice Women’s Hospital, and we commuted every single day to visit our little girl, do skin-to-skin cuddles, give feedings every 3 hours, and hear updates from her doctors.
Through the Jackson Chance Foundation, we received a free 24/7 parking pass at a garage next to the hospital so parking costs and logistics did not have to be on our list of worries. We were able to focus on Lyla‘s progress, and we were thrilled to take our baby home 3 1/2 weeks before her due date.
Lyla is now almost one year old, and she is the most sweet, energetic, sassy, giggly little girl!
To celebrate Lyla’s first birthday, we’d love if you’d contribute to this awesome charity. Jackson Chance Foundation ensures that the financial burden of parking does not stand in the way of any parent being with their child in the NICU. We were so fortunate to have had that amazing support, and we can only hope other families with babies in the NICU continue to feel the same way.
