Patrick Johns, NICU Nurse
Prentice Women’s Hospital
Nominated by Danielle Kogen
Our boys were in the NICU for 15 and 16 days. Patrick was the night nurse that became one of our primary nurses. He was so kind and understanding. We would stay there until 10pm and head home for the night and we felt that our boys were in good hands. He never made us feel bad for leaving or even staying all day.
He helped me with feeding them, breastfeeding and allowed us to be very hands on when we were there. He would start his shift sometimes at 3 and would let us hang out the whole time; answering our questions (even the silly naive ones) and we never felt judged or uncomfortable to ask him. He became such a big part of our boys lives and we hope that we can continue the relationship with him for a long time. Such an important person in our lives.
