As many of you know, almost one year ago, Chris and I welcomed our son Owen at just 26 weeks. We endured a 105 day stay in the NICU. While there are many costs associated with a lengthy NICU stay, one we weren’t thinking of was the cost of parking.
Jackson Chance Foundation is a nonprofit who provides parking to families who have premature and critically ill babies in the neonatal intensive care unit. Thanks to JCF we never had to think about the daily cost of parking. We could be with Owen whenever we wanted, 24/7. Now as we approach the anniversary of our stay, we want to pay it forward.
As a result of wanting to do more, I have joined the Jackson Chance Ping Pong Ball Committee. Each Year the PPB is the foundations biggest fundraiser. In addition to silent auction gifts, Shred 415 has generously offered to host a Special Shred class to help our efforts to raise as much money for this great cause.
Join us at Shred 415 Lincoln Park, on October 6 at 4pm for a special Shred! We will be shredding for all the families and babies enduring a stay in the NICU. All Proceeds will go to the Jackson Chance Foundation. Every dollar donated goes directly to help the families. I am so lucky to be a part of a community that has supported us throughout this time. These babies fight like hell each and every day, so we can work like hell for one hour.
