Jackson Chance Foundation provides complimentary parking passes to families with babies in the neonatal intensive care unit (NICU).
When a child is admitted into the NICU, they immediately receive a monthly parking pass which provides 24/7 garage access with unlimited in and out privileges. The pass belongs to the baby so family members can always be there.
Today, the average length of stay in the NICU is 28 days and most babies are there for months at a time. Meaning many babies are left alone, because their parents simply cannot afford to be with them. We ensure parking never stands in the way which is why our program is available to every NICU family, regardless of need. We believe every family needs a pass so no family has to second guess a 2nd, 3rd, or 4th trip to the NICU.
Annually, we provide more than 87,500 days of parking to over 3,000 NICU families. Every $300 we raise provides one monthly parking pass and could save a family more than $1,000/month. Currently, our program is available at the Ann & Robert H. Lurie Children’s Hospital of Chicago, Northwestern Medicine Prentice Women’s Hospital, and Rush University Children’s Hospital. The programs are fully funded by JCF. Prior to the NICU Transportation Program, monthly parking passes were not available, and families did not have access to in-and-out privileges.
