Jackson Chance Foundation provides complimentary parking passes to families with babies in the neonatal intensive care unit (NICU). When a child is admitted into the NICU, they immediately receive a monthly parking pass that provides 24/7 garage access with unlimited in and out privileges. The pass belongs to the baby so that family can always be there whether it’s mom, dad, grandma, or uncle.
Today, the average length of stay in the NICU is 28 days and most babies are there for months at a time. Meaning many babies are left alone, because their parents simply cannot afford to be with them. We ensure that parking never stands in the way. That is why our program is available to every NICU family, regardless of need. We believe that every family needs a pass. Even those who can afford to park at the hospital every day, may second guess a 2nd, 3rd, or 4th trip to the NICU.
Annually, we provide more than 45,000 days of parking to over 2,000 NICU families. Every $300 we raise provides one monthly parking pass and could save a family more than $1,000/month. See the impact we’ve had on NICU families since our inception in 2012.
Currently, our program is available at the Ann & Robert H. Lurie Children’s Hospital of Chicago and Northwestern Medicine Prentice Women’s Hospital. The programs are fully funded by JCF. Prior to the NICU Transportation Program, monthly parking passes were not available, and families did not have access to in-and-out privileges. Visit our donation page and help us grow.
