Maggie Coleman

Managing Partner, Private Capital Advisory | BFIN

Maggie Coleman, Managing Partner, joined BFIN in October 2020 where she leads the Private Capital Advisory (PCA) real estate platform. In this capacity, Maggie focuses on strategy and execution of BFIN’s PCA business which advises leading general partners, operating companies and managers of real assets on capital formation and fund strategy. In addition, Ms. Coleman is responsible for overseeing the group’s investor coverage across institutional relationships, private equity and private capital groups and coordinating coverage across BFIN’s global investors. She is a member of the PCA Global Leadership Team.

Ms. Coleman joined BFIN from JLL where she served as Senior Managing Director and Head of International Capital, Americas. In this role, Ms. Coleman focused on advising cross-border investors on their real estate strategies, facilitating the deployment of offshore capital into JLL’s direct transactions, recapitalizations and joint ventures. Previously, Ms. Coleman worked as a Director within the M&A Advisory Services group of Staubach Capital Markets prior to the Staubach merger with JLL in 2008. Specializing in real estate structured financial solutions and investment banking, Ms. Coleman delivered real estate expertise and strategies to middle market private-equity-sponsors,-hedge-funds,-asset-managers and investment banks.

Ms. Coleman earned a master’s degree from the University of Chicago in Political Economy and a bachelor’s degree in business economics & public policy (BEPP) and international business from Indiana University’s Kelley School of Business.

Ms. Coleman is a council member of the Urban Development/Mixed-Use Council (UDMUC) at ULI. Ms. Coleman is affiliated with the Guild Board of the Boys & Girls Clubs of Chicago and is a member of the Board of Directors of the Jackson Chance Foundation.
