Whether it's assembling NICU Welcome Bags, assisting at events like the Owl Ride for Jackson or the Ping Pong Ball, or joining an event committee, your contribution is invaluable.   • NICU Welcome Bags

    Jackson Chance Foundation provides Welcome Bags to babies and families admitted into the NICU. Each bag includes a welcome letter from JCF founders Carrie and Terry Meghie, a JCF brochure, event information, a keychain, a reusable bag, a pop socket, a car decal, milestone cards, garage instructions specific to each hospital, and — most importantly — a parking pass. (Some materials may be missing or replaced based on availability.)

    All materials arrive separately, and volunteers are needed to assemble the bags.

    What kind of volunteer is a good fit for this position? What's the time commitment?

    • The ideal time frame is 2–3 hours, but any amount of time works.

    • Groups of all sizes are welcome.

    • Age requirement: all ages welcome. Volunteers under 18 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.

  • Event/ Fundraising Committee Volunteer

    Day of Volunteer

    • Starting Line Set-Up & Rider Check-In (Saturday)

      • Help set up the starting line and welcome riders as they arrive.

      • Saturday: 4:30am – 6:30am (~2 hours)

    • Road Crew (Saturday and/or Sunday)

      • Support riders along the route and help facilitate rest stops. One-day or two-day options available!

      • Saturday: 4:30am – 12:30pm (~8 hours)

      • Sunday: 7:00am – 2:00pm (~7-8 hours)

    • Finish Line Cheering Squad (Saturday and/or Sunday)

      • Cheer riders across the finish line - one of the most rewarding spots to be!

      • Saturday (Valparaiso finish): 11:00am – 1:00pm (~2 hours)

      • Sunday (Chicago finish): 12:00pm – 2:00pm (~2 hours)

    • After-Party Set-Up (Sunday)

      • Help us get the celebration ready for our amazing riders and volunteers.

      • Sunday, Aug. 16: 11:00am – 2:30pm (~3-4 hours)

  • Event/ Fundraising Committee Volunteer

    • Set Up | 12:00–4:30pm
      Help prepare the event space before guests arrive.

      • Unload and organize event materials and supplies

      • Set up tables, props, and signage

      • Support the coordination team with last-minute needs

    • Breakdown | 10:30–11:30pm
      Help wrap up and pack out after the event.

      • Clean up and break down activity areas

      • Pack and organize materials, props, and signage for storage

      • Leave the space safe and tidy

    • Tournament Headquarters / Runners | 4:00–10:00pm
      Keep the tournament organized and on schedule.

      • Assist the Tournament Master with set-up and bracket management

      • Check in players and confirm match times

      • Locate and notify players for their matches

      • Answer guest questions

    • Tournament Referees | 4:00–10:00pm
      Keep matches fair and on schedule.

      • Oversee matches for fair play and proper conduct

      • Keep games on schedule and notify players of their times

      • Report match results to Tournament Headquarters

    • Auction Support | 4:00–8:30pm
      Help drive fundraising during the live auction and paddle raise.

      • Spot bidder paddles for the auctioneer

      • Encourage continued bidding

      • Support the paddle raise and communicate bids to the auction team

    • Activity / Game Support | 4:00–10:00pm
      Help create a great guest experience at sponsor tables and activities.

      • Monitor and maintain reserved sponsor tables

      • Assist with on-site games and activations

      • Encourage guest participation
