JACKSON CHANCE FOUNDATION NAMES MATTHEW MOY JOHNSON EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR

Nonprofit leader joins October 21 as Foundation expands complimentary hospital parking for Chicago-area NICU families

Jackson Chance Foundation (JCF) has named Matthew Moy Johnson Executive Director, effective October 21, 2026, as the organization expands its work to remove the financial burden of hospital parking for families with babies in the neonatal intensive care unit (NICU).

The appointment follows JCF’s September expansion to UChicago Medicine Comer Children’s Hospital, its fourth hospital partner. With the addition of Comer, the Foundation expects to provide approximately 123,000 days of complimentary parking annually, serving approximately 4,000 NICU babies and their families across Chicago.

“Matt brings the kind of experience, relationships, and strategic leadership that will help us build on the tremendous growth Jackson Chance Foundation has experienced,” said Carrie Meghie, co-founder and Board Chair of the Jackson Chance Foundation. “He understands how to grow a mission-driven organization while preserving what makes it special, and he shares our deep belief that every parent should be able to be at their baby’s side without worrying about the cost of parking.”

Johnson brings more than three decades of nonprofit leadership and fundraising experience, most recently serving as Chief Executive Officer of the Cancer Research Foundation, where he helped more than double program funding and expand relationships with cancer centers across the Midwest. He previously served as CEO of Chicagoland Habitat for Humanity. At JCF, he will work with the founders, Board and hospital partners to build on the foundation’s success, expand it’s reach, and ensure more NICU families receive the support they need.

“The mission of the Jackson Chance Foundation is incredibly meaningful to me,” said Johnson. “My nephew spent several weeks in the NICU after he was born, so I understand how important it is for parents and family members to be able to be there every day. JCF has built something remarkable by removing a very real barrier for families during an extraordinarily difficult time. I am excited to work with the entire JCF community to build on that foundation and help bring this support to even more families.”

Carrie and Terry Meghie founded JCF in memory of their son, Jackson Chance, who spent nearly his entire ten-month life in the NICU. After experiencing firsthand how hospital parking costs can become a significant financial burden during an extended stay, they established the Foundation to help families spend more time at their babies’ bedsides. Through its NICU Transportation Program, JCF provides complimentary parking with 24/7 access and unlimited in-and-out privileges.

To date, JCF has provided more than one million days of complimentary parking and supported more than 30,500 families.

Johnson joins JCF ahead of its largest annual fundraiser, the 12th Annual Ping Pong Ball, taking place November 6, 2026, at SPIN Chicago. The event raises funds to provide complimentary hospital parking for NICU families.
