"When our youngest twin, Atarah, was transferred to Lurie Children's NICU, I had no idea what to expect. Over time, I became acquainted with our Child Life Specialist, Katelyn, who became a lifeline during an incredibly difficult season. Katelyn always maintained a cheerful disposition and a gentle tone.

As Atarah grew older, I increasingly sought her out as a much-needed resource. She helped our family through many challenging times, visiting with Atarah and coordinating FaceTime calls when my family and I could not be there in person.

When the girls turned six months old, she helped decorate Atarah's room, and she did so again for a winter wonderland theme and for Cri Du Chat month.

Katelyn made being in the hospital and celebrating milestones feel a little more normal, and we are incredibly grateful for her support.”
